Thursford is probably the most popular Christmas production of all time, a blend of exciting festive entertainment with modern and traditional music, carols, dazzling dancers, beautiful costumes and outstanding singing from a cast of over 100. The Show draws thousands of visitors from all over the country to the collection of former farm buildings in North Norfolk, all beautifully lit and decorated for the season. If you have never seen the Show before it is a must, although people return year after year to enjoy this Christmas extravaganza, which would not be out of place in any of London’s West End theatres.
Your Holiday Hotel
You will stay for two nights at the luxurious Dunston Hall Hotel, an Elizabethan-style mansion built in 1859, a few miles from Norwich. The 4-star country house hotel retains a traditional elegance amidst 150 acres of landscaped grounds. The public areas include an elegantly decorated bar and an impressive restaurant. (DAY 1) Sunday 3rd December
A Roadmark taxi will bring you from home to the coach. We travel to the historic market town of Bury St. Edmundsin Suffolk. Bury has a striking combination of medieval architecture, elegant Georgian squares and a glorious cathedral, and there will be time to explore and find lunch. This afternoon we continue to our hotel on the outskirts of Norwich.
(DAY 2) Monday 4th December
This morning enjoy a leisurely breakfast, a read of the papers or perhaps a dip in thepool before we leave for Thursford. We will arrive early to allow time for a snack and some shopping in the Thursford gift shops before the Show. Whether you have seen the Christmas Spectacular before or if this is your first visit, you will be completely bowled over by the festive atmosphere and talented cast of professional singers, dancers and musicians.
(DAY 3) Tuesday 5th December
After breakfast we make our way to Colchester, the oldest recorded town in Britain, with a unique heritage and history. Time for lunch and a spot of Christmas shopping before we complete the homeward journey to Sussex.
