Roadmark is becoming a regular visitor to the three-star Hotel Rex, where we are assured of awarm welcome. The Rex offers the comforts of a modern hotel, whilst retaining its original character and splendour. The Hotel was originally built for the Duke of Clarence as his summer residence when King George III held his Royal Court in Weymouth. It is situated on the seafront, overlooking the beach and Jurassic coast beyond. Facilities include a residents’ lounge, bar and Wi-Fi. There is a lift, although there are a few stairs to some bedrooms.
(DAY 1) Thursday 16th November
Settle into the Hotel and meet your driver and fellow travellers for a wine reception in the lounge. Dinner will be served in the restaurant, followed by Bingo and festive music.
(DAY 2) Friday 17th November
Fortify yourself with a hearty English Breakfast then join the coach for a morning visit to Dorchester, with time to explore and find lunch. In the evening enjoy a good old-fashioned Christmas Dinner with party hats and crackers to make things go with a bang!
(DAY 3) Saturday 18th November
After breakfast we will take you on a scenic drive along Dorset’s Jurassic Coast. This evening partake of a glass of Christmas Punch before dinner, followed by Bingo. a Fancy Hat competition and music.
(DAY 4) Sunday 19th November
Start the day with a Full English Breakfast. Today we will take you “By Steam To Swanage”. Travel by steam train through six miles of beautiful Dorset scenery, passing ruined Corfe Castle, to the Victorian seaside town of Swanage. This evening enjoy a candlelit Hogmanay Dinner followed by entertainment in the lounge. See the New Year in with a complimentary glass of bubbly and a mince pie, to the tune of Auld Lang Syne.
(DAY 5) Monday 20th November
We say our farewells and travel home, making a lunch break in Ringwood and reaching Sussex by late afternoon.
