Overview

We travel to rural Somerset, where Cricket St. Thomas Hotel lies in a peaceful valley in grounds landscaped by ‘Capability’ Brown. Cricket was often visited by Horatio Nelson and Lady Hamilton, and the current mansion dates from around 1820. The BBC chose the estate as the setting for its popular sitcom ‘To The Manor Born’. There is an abundance of activities including short mat bowls, table tennis and bread making. The leisure centre has an indoor heated pool and you can pamper yourself with a visit to the health and beauty salon. During your stay there will be an excursion to the Haynes Motor Museum which has the UK’s largest exhibition of cars from around the world with over 400 cars and bikes from 1885 to the present day. We will also take you to Clarks Village at Street, an excellent destination for Christmas shopping with plenty of bargains to be had.
