Overview

Wimpole is a working estate with the impressive mansion at its heart and donated to the National Trust in 1976 by Rudyard Kipling’s daughter In the house intimate rooms contrast with beautiful and unexpected Georgian interiors, including Soane’s breathtaking Yellow Drawing Room and wonderful plunge bath. The fascinating basement corridor offers a glimpse into life below stairs. You may stroll around the colourful parterre garden and wander through the Pleasure Grounds to the walled garden, abundant with fruit, vegetables and herbaceous borders. Also on the estate is Home Farm, a fully functioning farm and home to Shire horses and many rare breeds. There are catering facilities at Wimpole or you may prefer to bring a picnic to enjoy within the attractive grounds.
