Overview

Not a strange new lunch option but a visit to two historic buildings. In the morning we have arranged a private guided tour of Strawberry Hill House  – Horace Walpole’s 18th century Georgian Gothic villa. Walpole intended visits to the house to be a theatrical experience and created a ‘gloomth’ in which best to display the collection of artefacts. There will also be time to visit the garden and the cafe. In the afternoon we drive to Ham House. Situated on the banks of the River Thames,Ham is one of London’s treasure houses and gardens. With a substantial collection of 17th-Century paintings, furniture and textiles, Ham reveals what life looked like during the reign of Charles I and II. There is a small cafe at Ham House serving light refreshments.
