Overview

We travel to Margate on the Kent coast where there will be time to explore this traditional seaside resort and have lunch.  In the afternoon we make our way to Quex House & Gardens. Home of the Powell-Cotton family, many rooms of this Regency mansion, containing Oriental and English period furniture, are open to the public. The Powell-Cotton Museum’s eight galleries include three dedicated to animals acquired on Major Percy’s expeditions to Africa and Asia and the whole museum is thought to contain a total of 18,000 artefacts.
