Overview

Each year, a team of mostly wounded and injured ex-service connected men and women make around 38 million Remembrance poppies, 5 million Remembrance petals, 900,000 crosses and 100,000 wreaths, including those laid by HM The Queen and Royal Family. We travel to the factory in Richmond where these items are made.   We arrive at the factory for a lunch of Cumberland Sausages in Red Onion Gravy, served with Cream Mash, Peas and Glazed Carrots or Mediterranean Roast Vegetable Lasagne with Garlic Bread and Salad. Following lunch our guide will give a presentation of the history of the poppy as a national symbol of remembrance prior to a touring the factory to see how the various items are made.  There will the opportunity to purchase giftware from the on-site showroom (cash sales only).  The price includes coach travel, lunch, factory tour and a donation to the Royal British Legion Poppy Factory.
