Overview

We travel to the town of Henley-on-Thames, home to the famous regatta. There will be time to explore this attractive riverside town and purchase lunch. In the afternoon we visit Nuffield Place, home to William Morris, Lord Nuffield, the founder of the Morris motor company and one of the world’s richest men during the early 20th Century. Despite his wealth Morris chose to live a simple life, giving much of his wealth to philanthropic causes. The house shows how the man lived and reflects his fascination for gadgets and clocks.

Light refreshments are available in the tea-rooms.
