Hever Tulip Celebrations
Tuesday 25th April 2017
£43.50 All seats
Spanning more than 700 years, the history of Hever Castle is rich and varied. The original medieval defensive castle, with its gatehouse and walled bailey, was built in 1270. In the 15th and 16th centuries it was the home of one of the most powerful families in the country, the Boleyns, who added the Tudor dwelling within the walls.
As spring takes hold across the county, the stunning Hever Castle tulip display is in full bloom. Arguably one of the best gardens to see tulips in Kent, the garden is alive with over fifty different varieties of this springtime favourite. Head Gardener, Neil Miller, described the tulip display at Hever Castle as “a hidden gem” commenting that “the south-east is renowned for tulip festivals and the explosion of colour along Pergola Walk brings a carnival like atmosphere to the formality of the Italian garden.
