We make our way to the seaside town of Eastbourne where there will to time to find lunch and take a stroll along the promenade. Later we travel the short distance to Herstmonceux Castle. This magnificent moated castle is set in beautiful parkland and superb Elizabethan gardens. Built originally as a country home in the mid 15th century, Herstmonceux Castle embodies the history of medieval England and the romance of renaissance Europe. There will be a guided tour of the Castle lasting about an hour, after which you will be free to explore the grounds and enjoy refreshments in The Chestnuts Tearooms.
