Overview

Following a scenic drive through the Sussex and Kent countryside we arrive in Lamberhurst for a delicious 2-course lunch at The Chequers Inn. The Inn dates back to 1137 when it was originally a Manor House. In 1414 it became a pub and was used as a Coaching Post House until 1913. The pub also boasts that Jane Austen herself was known to frequently visit the guest house-in search of inspiration for one of her many books.
