Overview

Situated close to Reading, Basildon Park is the perfect English Country House. Originally built towards the end of the 18th Century it was rescued and lovingly restored to its former grandeur by Lord and Lady Illiffe in the 1950s filling the house with beautiful paintings, textiles and furniture.  Today the house is owned by the National Trust and may be familiar to fans of Downton Abbey as the location for the London home of the Crawley family.
