A Day Out to Maldon
Wednesday 7th June 2017
Maldon, in Essex, is located on the Blackwater estuary and is probably best known as the foremost modern-day centre for Thames sailing barges (one of which features on the district’s badge). The Hythe Quay is home to these distinctive boats and adjacent is Promenade Park, which provides fantastic views of the estuary and is home to the Maldon Museum. Weather permitting you may wish to take a river trip. A short walk away in the town centre is the Combined Military Services Museum, which houses collections from all of Britains armed forces. There are plenty of pubs and cafes by the Hythe or in the town centre in which to enjoy lunch.
